- Which industrial flooring is best for you? How can RESPOL help you decide?
RESPOL are a leading contractor of a range of different industrial flooring, including Polymer, Poly urethane, MMA and Epoxy Resin solutions. With years of industry experience and expertise, you can rely on RESPOL for a durable, long-lasting solution that meets all of your industry and application needs. So, what is the difference between these types of industrial flooring?
Polymer Flooring:
Polymer flooring is widely known for its resilience, structural strength and the ability to be resistant against heat, thermal fluctuation and corrosion. It is usually comprised of resins and hardeners, which combine to formulate a rigid, durable plastic material. Due to its strength and resistance against external factors, polymer flooring is commonly used in environments where heavy traffic is to be expected, often in industrial factories and hospitals. RESPOL’s range of polymer flooring solutions are cost-effective, reliable systems for a range of industrial applications for both internal and external use.
Polyurethane Flooring:
Often used as an alternative to epoxy flooring, polyurethane is renowned for its flexibility and durability for a range of heavy-duty environments that have stringent hygiene standards. Whilst polyurethane is itself a synthetic resin, it offers more versatility than epoxy resin, making it suitable for both decorative and functional purposes. It is often used in residential and commercial environments as a practical yet aesthetic flooring solution. RESPOL offers an expert range of polyurethane screeds and coatings to suit these commercial settings but also to withstand more challenging industrial environments.
MMA Flooring:
RESPOL offers a range of seamless MMA flooring solutions that boast unrivalled install times and durability for a variety of industrial applications. Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) resins are thermoplastics which chemically bond between each installation layer. This ensures unparalleled strength due to a monolithic finish. Our range of MMA flooring solutions are durable, hygienic systems that can be installed even in extreme temperatures without compromising the quality and longevity of the results.
Epoxy Resin Flooring:
Arguably the most popular type of industrial flooring, epoxy resin is known for its strength and durability due to epoxy being a strong adhesive that binds resins together. Epoxy resins are polyepoxides, which are reactive prepolymers and polymers that contain epoxide groups. We combine these epoxy resins with a range of co-reactants that create more advanced features, such as non-slip, anti-static, heat or chemical resistance. This allows us to tailor our flooring solutions to your specific industry, whether that may be food and beverage, pharmaceutical or automotive. Due to epoxy resin forming a protective layer over any flooring, it is a good option for a wide range of different industries. Epoxy resin flooring can also come with a wide range of finishes which are specially formulated using coloured aggregates, quartz aggregates, aluminium oxide, PVA flakes, and even rubber, depending on the finish your industrial flooring requires.
Concrete Densifier Flooring:
Concrete densifiers are chemical hardeners spread onto a floor that penetrates the surface of the concrete, filling any porous holes that occur during the curing process. Used on both polished and non-polished concrete floors densifiers work by fusing compounds and sand particles into a strong crystalline bond. The finish is resistence to spillage, abrasion and high-traffic damage. As flooring specialists, Respol offer a range of densifiers, specifically designed for concrete surfaces, to suit a variety of applications.
