Half a Million Pound Chocolate Factory Flooring Refurb
Magna Foods in Telford was in need of major refurbishment, and Respol carried out work on a number of areas.
Firstly, the mezzanine floor was overlaid with EL002 on top of 38mm tongue-and-groove chipboard, with a perimeter 100mm cove to create a new production area, then the tray wash area was completed in a Reegrip system and 9mm PU RT Screed for temperature resistance. In the locker room and toilets, all floor areas were completed with a decorative Reegrip system and the walls finished in a high quality, brilliant white 3M epoxy coating. Finally, the main production area was refurbished as the existing PU system was starting to look dated. All 3,000 square metres of floor area were covered with Reeflor EL002.
Prior to this, we had to make good the mezzanine bases that had been installed, and this involved levelling out with an epoxy resin screed prior to a Reetop ES006, and finally overlaying Reeflor EL002. For the new extension on the first-floor at Magna, we installed a 50mm screed over the top of the bison beam construction, and then finished with an anti-slip Reegrip system plus coving. This system was also applied to the new laboratory and testing rooms.
The ground floor canteen area was to be new concrete, we installed a surface DPM primer due to the short time frame we were given to complete the project and, as this was the main canteen we also installed an anti-slip decorative Reegrip system with 100mm perimeter coving. All perimeter walls were once again finished in a high quality, brilliant white 3M wall finish coating.
The total project value for Magna was in the order of £500,000 and has been completed over the past 12 months.
